Topic: ILNC Announces . . . Meet the Candidates Day for the community!
Full Text: Join Independent Living of Niagara County (ILNC) for "Meet the Candidates Day," offering anyone an opportunity to hear and question the candidates on the November ballot, on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Niagara Falls Public Library in the Earl W. Brydges Building, 1425 Main Street, Niagara Falls NY 14305. For more information please call, 284-4131 (voice or TDD).
Accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities, including sign language interpreters for the deaf and an assistive listening system for hard of hearing individuals. A limited amount of free transportation is available for participants with disabilities, by reservation on a first come, first served basis. For details, call 836-0822, Ext. 150.
The Independent Living of Niagara County will serve all individuals with any type of disability in Niagara County using their Four Core Services that include, Information & Referral, Peer Counseling, Independent Living Skills Training and Individual and Systems Advocacy. IL Niagara provides Native American Independent Living Services (NAILS), which offers independent living services to Native Americans living on and off the reservations. The Client Assistance Program (CAP) also has an office at IL Niagara; CAP is a free service to advise New Yorkers with disabilities on the rights to vocation rehabilitation and the specific services VESID is required to carry out.
