Service: Braille Transcription

Purpose:
To transcribe the printed word into grade one or grade two braille for a person who is a braille reader, or for an individual or organization that requests information in braille.

Method:
1. Communication Transcriptionist will receive all requests for documents to be transcribed into braille and identify any costs if applicable.
2. An individual who is blind and has less than five pages of printed text may request the transcription service free.
3. A request from an individual representing an organization or business requesting information to be brailled is subject to payment of the service. This payment is $16 an hour for setup and processing and ten cents per single page for braille reproduction.
