JOB TITLE:  Data Analysis and Reporting Specialist

DEPARTMENT:  Administration

LOCATION:  Buffalo, N.Y.

DIRECT SUPERVISOR:  Chief Executive Officer (CEO)


GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the coordination and operation of Western New York Independent Living Inc’s (WNYIL's) program reporting and consumer database management. The responsibilities will include the collection, filtering and analysis of the data needed by the Administration in the management of the Agency. This position is responsible for the coordination of reports, assessment of logistics and the day-to-day data needs of all WNYIL’s program staff.


SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Understand data requirements to effectively meet the needs of the funding sources.
     
  2. Lead the implementation of new data reporting initiatives: map out changes and updates, create screening tools for data collection and reporting in WNYIL’s Electronic Consumer Record (ECR).
     
  3. Manage the ECR helpdesk and assist with WNYIL user issues in the system.
     
  4. Produce reports as directed by WNYIL’s CEO.
     
  5. Assist in identifying gaps in data collection.
     
  6. Run and distribute to the appropriate personnel, according to the identified reporting cycles, all reports on WNYIL programming.
     
  7. Run and distribute, according to the identified schedule, reports for Directors/Supervisors to assist in program monitoring and performance metrics, including a variety of staff and program productivity reports.
     
  8. Produce and distribute mailing list reports for the Community Engagement Department, and other departments, as needed.
     
  9. Attend Agency’s in-service training and staff meetings as well as any other Agency- related activities as required.
     
  10. Participate in maintaining a neat, clean and safe work environment.
     
  11. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field required.
  • Professional and life experience may be considered in lieu of, in full or part of academic credentials.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE (if required)

  • Must be a Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate.
     
  • Must have one to four (1-4) years of experience designing, developing and generating reports from a relational database application.
     
  • Must have database design, deployment and coordination experience.
     
  • Advanced Power BI skills are required.
     
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
     
  • Able to query data and visualize (model) data for analysis.
     
  • Solid understanding of the principles of database software and business process workflow.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must have advanced level of knowledge of computers including the use of Excel spreadsheets, databases, word processing and networks.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
     
  • Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects.
     
  • Organize work to meet deadlines, work independently and have the ability to initiate change.
     
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
     
  • Must exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical users.
     
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
     
  • Perform in a professional, conscientious, and efficient manner for the purpose of ensuring a better quality of life for persons with disabilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Office

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB:  Sitting for extended periods of time.
Occasional lifting of not more than 15 pounds.

HOURS / SHIFTS:  37.5 – 40 hours per week.
M – F  8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Overtime rarely required.

CLASSIFICATION:  Full-time, salary, non-exempt, Professional staff.
Range: $50,000 - $60,000
