Ways We Can Help
Budget and Financial Counseling
Consider Sara’s story. Sara is a consumer who has many medical needs and is under tremendous stress due to these needs and the issues that come with them. With no transportation and little income, Sara did not know how she would afford everything. This was affecting her mental health. She enrolled in Medicaid but had a large spend down that she lacked the skills to manage. To resolve this, we helped Sara enroll in a pooled trust where her spend-down is used to pay her rent and utility costs instead of strictly medical needs. Sara now has increased disposable income and can focus on keeping her medical issues under control. Our peer led support programs and services helped to empower Sara to remain independent and thrive.
