Independent Living of the Genesee Region (ILGR) will host a free, two-day virtual Special Education & Advocacy Workshop on Tuesday, January 20, and Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. via Zoom.
The workshop is designed to help parents and caregivers better understand their child’s rights within the school system and build practical skills for effective advocacy. Participants will learn how to community with school staff, organize important records, and confidently advocate for their child’s educational needs.
Participation is limited to individuals who live or work in Genesee or Orleans Counties. Attendees must be able to participate in both sessions in full. Upon completion of the workshop, participants will receive a free Special Education Advocacy Bag, which includes tools and books referenced during the training.
Registration is required. Register Here.
