On Sunday, August 31st, 2025, the City of Lockport will come together to commemorate International Overdose Awareness Day with its 9th Annual Overdose Awareness Day Rally. Held at Veterans Memorial Park, located at 400 East Avenue, Lockport, NY 14094, the event will run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Organized in partnership with Independent Living of Niagara County (ILNC), this free community event is part of a global movement to honor those who have lost their lives to overdose, support individuals and families impacted by addiction, and raise awareness about the resources available to prevent future tragedies.
Attendees will hear powerful personal testimonies from local residents; a flameless candlelight vigil will be held; and a remembrance table will be available for community members. The rally will also feature hands-on Narcan training and offer access to vital resources aimed at preventing fatal overdose and supporting long-term recovery. Local service providers will be on hand to provide information and guidance.
