The Niagara County community will come together on Monday, August 31, 2026, for the 10th Annual International Overdose Awareness Day Rally, an evening dedicated to remembering those lost to overdose, supporting their loved ones and sharing resources that can help prevent future deaths.

The rally will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park, 400 East Ave. in Lockport. The evening will include testimonies of hope and loss, a flameless candlelight vigil, Narcan training, a remembrance table and additional community resources. Attendees are invited to honor the memory of those lost and stand alongside individuals and families whose lives have been affected by substance use and overdose. The event is free and open to the public.

International Overdose Awareness Day is observed worldwide each August 31 to remember without stigma those have died from overdose, acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind, and raise awareness that overdose deaths are preventable.

The Lockport rally is supported by Independent Living of Niagara County (ILNC), Addict 2 Addict Niagara (A2A), and Family 2 Family Niagara (F2F). For more information, please call (716) 284-4131.
