Parent to Parent of New York State, a statewide nonprofit dedicated to supporting and connecting families of individuals with special needs, announces that Executive Director, Michele Juda is leaving her role after more than 17 years of service.

Juda’s connection to Parent to Parent of NYS began as a mother seeking support for her son. That first experience grew into nearly two decades of professional dedication, including roles with the Family to Family Health Information Center, as statewide Director of Programs, and since 2014, as Executive Director. Along the way, she also contributed her expertise on state and federal advisory councils focused on maternal and child health and disability services.

During her tenure, Juda guided Parent to Parent of NYS through growth and challenge, supporting families consistently, including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, when many services were closed. She also broadened programming and secured health insurance for full-time employees.

“Having a small part in the history of this organization and a connection to the families for whom it was built has been the privilege of a lifetime,” Juda reflected in a personal message shared on the Parent to Parent of NYS website.

“I very much look forward to continuing to raise awareness regarding the needs of family caregivers, cheer for our staff, and support the mission of Parent to Parent of NYS from the sidelines.” —Michele Juda, former Executive Director, Parent to Parent of NYS

“Michele’s heart has always been with families, and that love shines through in everything she’s given to Parent to Parent of NYS. We are so grateful for her years of dedication.” —Ann Scherff, Board President, Parent to Parent of NYS
