Youth Peer Advocacy Program/Young Peers
The Young Peers Program is designed to provide peer services specifically tailored for youth and young adults with disabilities. These services are delivered by young adults who also have disabilities, creating a relatable and supportive environment. The program offers both one-on-one and group peer support, which can be accessed in person or through virtual platforms. It is open to young individuals aged 14 to 30, aiming to address the unique needs and challenges faced by this specific age group.

Potentially Eligible (Pre-ETS)
Empowering Students with Disabilities: Pre-Employment Transition Services
The Pre-ETS program is designed to help students with disabilities, aged 14-21, build a solid foundation for successful, integrated, long-term careers and independence. These services align with evidence-based predictors of post-secondary success and are delivered through experiential training approaches in age-appropriate, integrated settings.
Pre-ETS Activities include:
- Job Exploration Counseling
- Work-Based Learning Experiences
- Counseling on Opportunities for Enrollment in Comprehensive Transition or Post-Secondary Educational Programs
- Workplace Readiness Training to Develop Social Skills and Independent Living Skills
- Instruction in Self-Advocacy
Pre-ETS activities can be delivered to a single student or a group of up to ten students. Activities promote family involvement and can be held during the school day, after-school or in the evening.
Funding for the Pre-ETS Program is provided by the NYS Education Department Adult Career & Continuing Ed Services Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR)
