Government Affairs / Advocacy Events

WNYIL’s Department of Government Affairs hosts and participates in events throughout the year to keep consumers informed about our work to advocate on their behalf.

Meet the Candidates

As part of its annual advocacy efforts, WNYIL hosts three Meet the Candidates events in the early Fall to allow members of the disability community an opportunity to meet and ask questions of candidates for elected office. The events are held at the Independent Living Center of Erie County, Independent Living of Niagara County and Independent Living of the Genesee Region with candidates in attendance for their respective areas.
